Christmas and your blessing all year through!

The Mission Inn is such a beautiful place, even more so at Christmas time. It's almost all covered in lights, especially in front of the restaurant where the valets take your car. You can take a carriage ride and there's ice skating in the middle of the shopping strip. We didn't do any of that, but had a nice walk and took it all in.

Kyle loves everything and anything that has to do with science, so it didn't surprise me that he got this award.

Each year IBC hosts a community Christmas tree lighting. The choirs perform, Pastor reminds us what the season is really about and there's plenty of hot chocolate and cookies to go around.

My mom came to visit for a couple of days so we decided to go up to Big Bear before it started snowing. It was a beautiful day and Kyle enjoyed spending time with his grandma.

I'm a couple days late, but Saturday we went to help pack meal boxes at church. There were quite a few of us so it didn't take very long. We actually broke last years record, 500 boxes in a little over an hour. Yes, that's not a typo....500!

Earlier this week I wasn't sure who, if anyone, was going to be well enough to have some Halloween fun this year. I am glad to say we all made it out of the house last night!

Kyle's feeling much better and is back to his lego building self. Me on the other hand, not so well. Hope I'm back to normal by the weekend, I'm supposed to be helping out at the harvest festival on Saturday. In the meantime I'll be drinking alot of:

Kyle's been a pretty healthy kid and hasn't been sick for a couple of years, but that changed yesterday. He started with a mild fever, then woke up with a temperature of 105 at 3:45am. I use the ear thermometer and I know those are sometimes off, but it was enough to scare me. I got his temperature down to 101 and we were able to get a couple hours of rest, but he's still not feeling well. I hope he get's over this quick, he's not happy about having to take cool baths and I don't want to have to go to the ER.

Kyle's school is very big on teaching kids good behavior and manners. Once a month they choose one student as their PeaceBuilder of the month and Kyle was chosen for the month of October. We are so proud of him!

Kyle joined the kids choir about a month ago and had his first performance tonight. He was a little nervous but did great!

The calendar says it's the first day of fall. It sure doesn't feel like it, it's 103 outside! Hopefully things will change soon.
