Kyle talked me into getting a plot at the nearby community vegetable garden. We each made a list of what we would like to grow and after some deliberation this is what we agreed on...sweet corn, pumpkin, tomatoes, zucchini and onion. Kyle also wanted wheat (so I could "make bread"...lol), but fortunately I was able to convince him that wouldn't be very practical.
We got seeds and started them at home while we're waiting for our plot to be designated. After that's happened we'll be able to start clearing the ground and getting it ready for the transplants.

I haven't done much gardening yet this year, but here are a few pictures of what I have in bloom right now.

Kyle, Ernie, Ethel & Adrian (a really nice couple we met at church) went fishing today. I was supposed to go too but was sick and couldn't muster up the energy. They didn't catch any fish, but Kyle brought back a bunch of ants for his ant farm. That kid loves bugs!

Soccer season has come to an end. Upward Sports are so different than AYSO and I'm glad there's a program like this for Kyle to play in. He wants to play basketball in the fall so we'll see how that goes.
